Peter Van Norde Scholarship

Peter Van Norde was a Tech Graduate in Aerospace Engineering. In 1999, he and his family generously donated a Cessna 310 to the club. The logistics of having a twin engine aircraft in the club did not work out, so with the Van Norde family's blessing, the aircraft was sold and the proceeds placed into a scholarship fund.

This fund allows the YJFC to give a $1,000 scholarship each year to a deserving Georgia Tech student. The amount is credited to the recipient's YJFC account for post-solo time placed on Club aircraft. The award may only be used for primary training up until the time the recipient attains their private pilot's certificate.
