Private Pilot Training
Most members join the club with no previous flying experience. That’s ok, because YJFC is equipped with the people and the resources to help you start from scratch and earn your wings. Private Pilot training usually takes six months to a year to complete depending on how often you can fly, your determination, and a number of other factors. It usually costs $6,000-$9,000, and you pay as you go – you’re not committed to finish just because you take a few lessons. It’s not cheap, but you can compare that to as much as $12,000 anywhere else in Atlanta.
Instrument Training
Already have your private pilot certificate? The club has two aircraft (N552GT, and N2105X) you can use as instrument trainers. Just like your private training, you can expect it to take a lot of work and determination. However, the rewards of being able to take off in cloudy weather and know where you are when you’re above them will be well worth it… not to mention to the safety increase that comes with the rating.
